Aftercare Advice

Injectable treatments are subject to consultation and suitability. Results vary from person to person, and Kelly will talk you through expectations, contraindications and aftercare before treatment goes ahead.

Botox & Filler Aftercare

Do

  • Apply a cold compress (lip filler)
  • Stay well hydrated
  • Expect a mild headache (Botox)
  • Be patient — full results in 10–14 days
  • Schedule a follow-up
  • Take paracetamol for mild pain

Don't

  • Touch your face for 24 hours
  • Bend or lie down for 4 hours (Botox)
  • Manipulate face for 2 weeks
  • Exercise for 24 hours
  • Rub or massage face
  • Stay in sun for 72 hours
  • Wear makeup for 12 hours
  • Drink alcohol for 24 hours
  • Smoke for 12 hours
  • Use hot tubs or saunas
  • Take blood thinning medication

Dermal Filler Aftercare

You may experience bruising, redness or swelling after treatment — most subsides within hours. Bruising can take 1–14 days to disappear. Arnica tablets or Vitamin K oxide cream can help.

Do

  • Avoid touching the area for 6 hours
  • If lumps appear after 48hrs, firmly massage to disperse
  • Expect results to last 6–9 months on average

Don't

  • Apply makeup for 6 hours
  • Facial massages or lip procedures for 2 weeks
  • Alcohol, caffeine or UV for 48 hours
  • Saunas, hot showers or heavy exercise for 48 hours
  • Apply extreme cold (ice packs)
Important: seek urgent medical attention if you experience: Severe swelling or redness around the face (possible anaphylaxis — call 999). Discolouration, painful or itchy bump near injection site could indicate necrosis. Both are rare but require immediate medical attention.
